As one of the major sporting events in Asia, Full Swing Golf was delighted to be part of the Barclays Singapore Open staged at Sentosa Golf Club from 1 - 4 November 2007.
The Full Swing Golf simulator was the major attraction at the pre-tournament build-up in the heart of Singapore's financial district.
For three days, Full Swing Golf played host to over 600 participants of the Nearest-the-Pin challenge on the par 3, 14th hole of Sentosa's Serapong Course, which had been mapped and uploaded to the Full Swing Golf simulator especially for the tournament.
The winners received fantastic prizes, including VIP tickets to each day of the tournament. Some great shots were seen over the 3 days but it was left to Dave Lim to steal the limelight with his Hole-in-One, the first witnessed on a Full Swing Golf in the region.
The media launch was held in the simulator tent where five of the world's best golfers battled it out for top honours in the Media Day NTP Competition.
Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood, Michael Campbell, Charles Howell III and Charl Schwartzel each had 3 shots on the Full Swing Golf simulator and it was Darren who came out on top and earned the first bragging rights of the week. The simulated 14th hole at Serapong's course proved good practice for the Pros as they played the same number iron on Full Swing Golf as they did in the tournament proper.
At the tournament itself, the simulator played host to the thousands of spectators looking to improve their game with a lesson from the pro and those looking to win one of the daily prizes on offer in the NTP competition. Mr Louis Martin was the overall winner of the Nokia E65 phone, with a distance of 2 feet from the pin.
Special guests included the team from ESPN's Sportscenter who featured Full Swing Golf in their tournament review which aired across Asia.
