The National Longest Drive 2004 competition hit the road again for its second year, with a series of events up and down the country all aimed to find the UK's longest hitter.
After a hugely successful first year in 2003, the National Longest Drive is back out in the UK by popular demand. This year's event will once again be run in partnership with Srixon. All golfers entering the competition will hit the latest Srixon AD333 ball with the brand new Srixon XXIO Hot driver - officially the world's longest driver!
Once again, The Full Swing Golf simulator has been selected by the National Longest Drive to provide the simulation technology used as the key for the success of the competition. By using the Full Swing simulator to measure the distance of each drive hit, all players compete on a totally level playing field. The same shot on the same hole - 18th at St. Andrews Old Course - with the same weather conditions for all entrants.
This year's competition is divided into two age groups, 18 to 50 year olds, and those over 50. A male and female winner from each age group will be awarded with the grand prize for the longest drive - an amazing weekend away at the Hustyns luxury resort near Wadebridge, Cornwall. Not only do the winners and their partners get to enjoy a weekend at the hotel, but the winning golfers will enjoy time with Gary Alliss at the new Alliss Academy on-site at the hotel, before playing 18 holes with the man himself at his local course. An amazing prize well worth flexing a few golfing muscles for!
